At 17 yrs. old, Cody is a remarkable piano player.  Though he didn't touch the
instrument until he was 11, he quickly fell in love with it and took right off with
playing.  He was inspired to pursue his passion for music after seeing renowned
Southern Gospel pianist ,the late Anthony Burger, in concert.  Anthony became
Cody's friend and mentor, and Cody played in concert with him several times.
Since his untimely death in 2006, Cody has tried to carry on the legacy that
Anthony left, by playing a lot of his music and continuing to play in the style that
Anthony was known world-wide for.
Cody is from Alderson, West Virginia, where he was born and still lives when
he's not on the road. He was raised listening to The Gaithers and other Gospel
music legends, and has a huge collection of music from LP s to CDs of all his
favorites.  His parents, H.R. & Detra McVey, and his 11 yr. old sister, Eva Marie,
join him in his concerts sometimes and are always very supportive.  Cody is the
result of several miracles, and he loves to give praises back to God through his
talent. There is no doubt that he is called to minister through music.
Cody's talent has taken him many places in a short time.  He has played at
churches and functions all over the US, and plays at venues such as the National
Quartet Convention, The Greenbrier Hotel, Carnegie Hall, The WV Governor's
Mansion, and the American Baptist Biennial.  He has played with or opened for
some of the best-known Gospel music artists in the world, and they often do guest
vocals on his CDs.  His most exciting performances are when he plays solos at
Gaither Homecoming Concerts.  He gets to share the stage with his most admired
artists and it is a dream come true. He has received glowing praise from artists
like Bill Gaither, yet remains humble and a bit shy.
Cody still tours doing solo concerts, which Eva usually joins him in for a song or
two.  He spent most of the summer and fall months, though, on the road with
Monument Quartet, on their Faith & Family Tour.  He was featured as a soloist with
them and accompanied them on the great variety of music they sing.  He is now
traveling and playing with The legendary Kingsmen . Cody loves traveling around
the country. For his schedule click

Aside from his music, Cody loves spending time with his relatives and restoring
old antique items.  He's also quite an artist, though he rarely has time
to draw anymore. He builds and shoots unique fireworks in his hometown, and
helps with the Volunteer Fire Dept. He also finds time to share musical knowledge
with this little sister, though his
schedule doesn't allow much time for these things.
Cody has released two CDs and is working on his third, which will be released later
this year.  Check out his
product page for information on them.
